CRIMINAL JUSTICE/POLICE SCIENCE

A program that prepares individual to perform the duties of police and public security officers, including patrol and investigative activities, traffic control, crowd control and public relations, witness interviewing, evidence collection and management, basic crime prevention methods, weapon and equipment operation and maintenance, report preparation and other routine law enforcement responsibilities.

The Wilkes-Barre Area Career and Technical Center provides a learning environment which closely resembles

industry, business and the world of work. This practical education also helps lay the foundation for continued

post secondary education. Students are prepared and taught through experimental learning. This methodology

emphasizes learning by doing, and combines the use of ones' mind, body, and hands, to develop the skills

necessary to compete in the contemporary world.

The Wilkes-Barre Area Career and Technical Center, through its programs of study and dedicated and experienced Instructors, administrators, and staff, will serve as a leading educational institution and community resource for all citizens seeking to explore, develop, and enhance their career and technical skills in a nurturing and supportive enviornment.
